This lantern is the same construction that it was in 1959, nothing has changed at all! It is manufactured of real metal and a good quality lampholder. I bought 3 of these to replace 2 that were next to the driveway and were used by the snow plow operator to find the extent of the driveway, and the lantern was on the losing end of the battle. One is a spare for this year. I was surprised to find the construction the same, a perfect match for the other 9 that were already there. An excellent choice for beauty and strength!

Fixture looks great and is very impressive in actual use.The red light activated at night adds to the value of a motion detector light. The sensing range and ease of use also makes the light a great value, very stisified with the light.

We have been through numerous low voltage brands (from the local box retailers) and if you are lucky they last a couple years. These lights and the hardware are so much better and durable (especially the finish). Very highly recommended

This RAB walkway light is the best I have ever used. It is sturdy and its glass globe is thick and nicely screw-seated unto a protective rubber gasket. The unit readily survives abuse.

Excellent piece of equipment. Had I known it was available I would have changed to this item a lot sooner. I had a RAB Light for at least 15 years without any problem. That speaks for itself. Yet, to install this item and change from the older version , you didn't even need directions.
Keep up the quality workmanship, it's hard to find ,and something you can't put a price on.

These have to be one of the best made outdoor lights on the market. Many features and work perfectly. I've installed seven sets around my main property. I live in the remote woods and they really help light the place up at night and let me know if any wild things are lurking!

When max time set it only stays on 10 seconds. Manual override does not work so light cannot be set to stay on when needed.

It seems to be a good product, installation was easy and at with the sensitivity dial set around 3/4, it's very sensitive, which I like. The unit is mounted a good 50 ft from the driveway and yet if you walk down my driveway now, it comes on. Nice. My only issue with it is that I had to replace one just like it because the sockets that hold the bulbs were snapped off and dangling. Like the old one, the new one has sockets that are toughened plastic and I'm not sure how durable they are in the long run. I dont know if a big bird landed on it and broke it or what, so I'll see how long the new one lasts.

Maintaining a large scale planned community is an ongoing challenge. Here in Hawaii, we have many elements that add to swift deterioration of common area features, including the lighting. There are those who like to bat the heads off of lights, small and large, and see how far they can sling them into traffic, the water feature or into people's backyards.
The Future Flood has, so far, been very successful because of its sturdy construction and small size of the fixture. Compared to former lighting, this model is compact, solid and also blends well with the landscaping.
Since the lighting has been in the ground for less than six months, we will wait for continued progress.

This is an excellent choice if you are looking to buy a top of the line security light. The added feature of the glowing red eye visable at night is a bonus. The sensitivity is easily adjusted and stays where it is set unlike cheaper security lights. If you are not familiar with electricity please hire a qualified person to hook the light up for you. The reviewer "teacher from Ohio" is obviously unfamiliar with the whole aspect of security lighting.

I consider these RAB PLF13 a good value for the price.
They are plastic housing with 13 watt compact fluorescent lamp. Not bright but energy efficient.
They seem to be well constructed for a plastic housing and are exactly what I was looking for.

These lights will stand up to the weather and also give good light for a weather resistant fixture because you can put a 100W bulb in them, while most other exterior jelly jar fixtures will only allow 60W. They have an industrial look and quality, but I like them in black on a house for a nautical element.

We installed two of these lights at our Community pool and the results are 100% positive. The lights were easy to install and look great. The 400 watt bulbs are very bright and the areas are no longer a concern for neighborhood. Brandon at Lighting Universe did a great job!

Use these lights to light up your yard & pathways. We placed them under trees, rose bushes, etc. & they realy do light up the yard. Wireing is as easy as twisting together the ends. Get some metal junction boxes with covers and your ready.

The 175 watts metal halide white light on both sides of the garage peak allowed me to cast day light shadows at nite, even during the recent 12-13 inches of snow falling blizzard. i set them up on remote control, and during the snowfall, i didn't need to use the snowthrower light at all. the blizzard in the light was an absolute winter wonder land.

Great value for these small compact landscape spot lights. I replaced large conventional spots that stood out and were unattractive. 9 lights out and 9 lights in in an hour and a half. looks great- you can't see the fixture because their small an fit right into the landscaping. All you see the the great lighting effects. They do run a hot, so you will need to be sure that foliage is not directly in front of the fixture.

Nice fixture, 3 13W PL type lamps, included where OSRAM, not some funcky cheap Chinese white box no name crap, that fade in 2 months, but real quality lamps. Fixture well made, well painted, sealed with full gasket around lens to body sealing, bargain priced, high quality, using for sign lighting replaced 150W Quartz energy wasters, why use 150W if 39W does the wams thing, it's your meter spinning. Plus 13W CFL lamps go for years and years, 150 W Quartz 6 months, even Philips, GE, or Osram lamps. Incandescent lamps are DUMB, there are plenty of alternatives, CFL is one big one.

We liked the first two enough to buy two more. They look great and are fully adjustable. Not just for security, we find them helpful for lighting areas we are using at night too, or when the sun goes down they extend our outdoor work/play time.

Be careful with the adjustment screw for the light heads - they could have been longer. An inexpesive replacement can be found at the hardware store if you find it to be an issue.

I like this lamp. There is but one screw that attaches the hood to the lamp. In shipping, due to being tossed about, this one aluminum screw became bent and had to be removed and straightened out in a vice. It doesn't take much to jar the hood away from the three posts in shipping with only one screw. Due to the construction, three screws would be preferable, although, once in place,utilizing the one screw approach, I believe the hood would be secure enough.

I love this light. We puchased two for our front porch and they exactly the look we wanted, BUT this light does NOT come with everything you need to install it. We had to purchase conduit pipe and a ceiling mount. I had talked to an online sales rep. and asked if everything I needed was included and I was told yes and was dissappointed we had to go out and buy additional hardware to install the lights. Love the lights, but the knowledge of the online tech help was lacking.

I purchased this sensor to replace the motion activated lights on each side of my garage door. The senaor is not rated for 200w so I got arround this by using 130 volt lamps instead of 120 volt. By doing this I droped the opperating wattage close enough to the 180 watts max rating of the sensor. The sensors could be a little more sensative even at max setting. Other than that I am pleased with there operation so far.

I installed the light but when I was adjusting the lights to the area I wanted the ball joint broke. This unit is a relacement. I don't know if I forced it too hard but as I noted in the subject, I thought thr unit should be less fragile or the joint should be less stiff. Other than that it works fine.

It comes on when you flip the switch and goes off when you flip the switch. When there is movement in front of the motion sensor it comes on. It does what it's supposed to do... What more could you ask for? It doesn't make pancakes and bacon (which would be nice) but it wasn't advertised to do so, so no problem! What more can I say- It's a light- It works.

No instruction included. Cast molded aluminum cage will never screw all the way on as in picture. Screws provided will not secure into normal ceiling 4" box so be prepared to improvise. Other than that good light for the $30 budget price. I bought and installed 2 in 30 min. Improvement on porcelains.
