The good news-- 1) it looks decent from 40 feet, 2) lighting universe ships very fast

the bad news-- this $200 light is of a quality you'd expect to find in a $40 fixture. every single component of this fixture reeks of cheapness. the tubular curved bars are extremely lightweight and fragile. the glass bowls-- which are held onto the fixture by a non color-matched washer that threads over the ceramic light holder and can be clearly seen with the lights in place and turned on-- are thin, unattractive, unevenly colored 'amber' entities. if they were any thinner they could be used as saran wrap. "adjustable"?? well, yes, they adjust. but you must first find the notch above the bowl that allows you to go 90 degrees to the frame, then you must turn that connecting rod to direct the light in the direction which you desire. but don't grab the glass bowl because it will break!! as for mounting the bracket which holds the entire fixture-- the threaded rods that come down from the bracket are directly behind the 2 screws used to attach the bracket to your mounting box. most electric boxes will not allow you to screw those mounting screws and adjust the threaded pieces to which you attach the little "berries". i had to remove the fixture and drill out some excess plastic from the electrical box. a 15-minute install turned into a 45 minute fiasco. and forget the instructions (i glanced at them after installing the light to see how easy they would read for a layperson)-- i've installed thousands of fixtures; these directions stink!
overall, i am extremely disappointed with the quality and the look of this fixture. like i said, for $40 this would be ok, but $200+ is a total, unequivocal rip-off. and to top it off, it's simply not very attractive. especially when you consider the lights required for this unit will cost you $4.50-$6.00 each, and they're so small inside the cheap bowls that you can see the cheap metal washer.

I purchased this rail light a few months ago and recently had it installed in my kitchen during a renovation. Admittedly it is pricier than track lighting found in Ikea or Home Depot; but it is also larger, provides more light, and, I think, is better looking than comparable fixtures sold in those chains. An electrician installed it, so I can't comment directly on the instructions, but he had no complaints. The only drawback I can report is that after only a month, one of the halogen bulbs is flickering and ready to go out, probably because the fixture sat in a warehouse for months.

I live in Canada and would have paid almost $100 CDN more if I had bought it in a store in Toronto.

Purchasing my light fixture online was very convenient and easy. I received the fixture the next day without paying for next day delivery. When the electrician finished installing, I came out and was so happy. It looked and lighted better than my expectations.
