I needed a pull-chain light for the living room, there are very few pull-chain lights available so I bought this fan light because it said it was convertible to a ceiling fixture. It did work as a ceiling fixture, but it was not an easy installation. Wish there were more pull-chain lights designed as ceiling lights for older houses that don't have wall switches.
