With such a reasonable price I honestly wasn't expecting much...but I was pleasantly surprised. The shade is constructed of a heavy duty plastic...would have preferred glass but the rest of the construction is heavy duty. A unique lovely and AFFORDABLE addition to my home!

cool, but not a clear shade

Though it's understandably difficult to get a true photograph of a lamp like this, I did think that the shade would be clear, and instead it's silver. I'm fine with it, it was just a surprise. When the light is on, it's practically clear and it's a very cool looking lamp.
