Overview

This Handle with Rim latch is available in either a rough iron type similar to ironwork found in old European castles and cathedrals, or in a smooth iron style reminiscent of Early American forges. Handle and latch are suitable for interior or light exterior doors between 7/8" and 1¾" thick.

Different rim latch type also available for inward-opening doors or outward-opening doors. Most interior room and hallway doors are inward-opening. Closet doors and storm doors are outward-opening, and require a reverse-bevel box strike for the rim latch.

good value to update those old fixtures

We live in an 150 yr old home with with similar latches. It took a few search attempts on the internet until I found this item. It replaced the very old latch we had, and the quality of metal looks stronger than the old one, which had been forcibly broken before we moved here.

The only problem I had was understanding the instructions about placing the lock. In retrospect it was obvious how it worked, but not so when I was installing it.

I need one more, and as shipping is free, I plan to purchase another on from here.
