The fact that this was adjustable was a big plus. However, after assembly, the metal "collars" that tighten will not untighten to adjust. It was very, very hard to unscrew the smaller one on the smaller arc and impossible even for my husband to unscrew on the larger arc. We are now stuck with an arc lamp that we cannot loosen up and adjust. Very disappointed.

I had looked for a lamp to fit in a corner space and arch over my desk. The space is tight and I had searched for some time. Except that this lamp had to be back ordered for several months I am very pleased with it. It is tall enough to be placed over my head for computer work and won't be a problem when I stand up. I am 5'6". It can be adjusted higher or lower. It was not easy to put together and would be very difficult for one person to do it as you need to hold the parts just right to get everything in place. The base is very heavy so it's not going to tip over. It looks just like the picture. It has a step switch that I find really handy. I saw a few arch lamps in my searches but they were a lot more expensive. This is a good buy.
