The top shade doesn't sit right. Threads don't match when putting it together - had to force it. Way over-priced.

The screw threads were defective. More made in China garbage.

I bought this model many years ago and had to take it right back to the store because the halogen bulb in the arm arced and damaged the switch. They gave me a replacement. There's something about the base connection that makes the lamp lean this way and that. Try as I might I have not been able to fix it. There is a glass protector in the arm but it cracked and fell off. Finally, after several years with no problems the halogen lamp went out. I carefully attempted to put in the correct bulb and it arced like the first one I purchased and damaged the switch so it is non-functional. The knobs are delicate and the salesman admitted that if too much pressure was used they would break. This is a Chinese product as you can tell from the box. I would be careful with the halogen fixture as the material holding the bulb is very porous and can be easily punctured by the new bulb's pins.
