The lamp itself is lovely. The purchase site showed that it came with a fluorescent bulb, which it did not and will not accept one after speaking with customer service. That was disappointing. It has an on/off button on the floor, which was a surprise. For weeks we were turning the lamp off and on by using the knob on the pole. The light would turn off by itself and we had to flip the floor switch to get it to work. We found that it is easier just to use the floor button to turn it off/on which is somewhat annoying if you are wearing shoes. For the price, the public could use a bit more detail on how this lamp is going to work once it arrives. It would be helpful to let everyone know, that do not live in California, that fluorescent bulbs do not work with this lamp.
