A nice looking product, but quite difficult to assemble because of a lack of clear assembly instructions.

Love the looks of the lamp. Have gotten a lot of compliments on it.

Pros:
Overall the lamp is built well, sturdy, and gives off an excellent amount of light. The dimmer switch located on the floor is handy and works as it should.

Cons:
After finalizing the construction of the lamp, I ran across one major flaw: The shelf nearest the floor has a major tilt - so much so that shelf cannot be used because items placed on that shelf will slide off. This problem is the single thing that prevents me from rating the lamp higher than I did. However, the instructions may have been adequate enough to avoid this issue. Unfortunately, I am one of those people who normally do not consult assembly instructions when the assembly appears to be simple enough to put together by simply screwing one rod into the next to complete the assembly process. I must be honest here and admit the assembly may have been my fault. (After all, as the saying goes, real men don't need instructions...right?)

Great value - torchiere provides the right amount of light plus it's a great accent lamp. Went together pretty easily despite poor directions
