Installation was not easy. It would have been easier if the door was completely flush with the cabinet side when open, but that was not my case. The plastic hinges have to be flush with the open door, so I had to prepare wood "fillers" that I mounted between the cabinet side and the hinges.
When installing the lid, there are two holes available for the metal shaft - one to be used when the can is mounted on a right-opening door, the other for the left. I found that when installing it properly, the lid would not cover the can exactly when the door is closed - it is ajar by almost an inch. This enables the lid to flip down when you open the door, but the main reason I wanted this can is to have it completely covered when the door is closed. I found that if you use the other hole (the one labeled as "left" for a right-mounted can) it actually covers it perfectly, but the lid would not flip down properly. I glued a heavy metal ring as a weight to the side of the lid that should flip down, and now it works perfectly.
There is still one issue left - my cabinet door can open more than 90 degrees, but the can can't. If you do that, the can falls off the door-mounted plastic support and you have to remount it. It happens to my maid every time she changes a bag... so I will need to find a stop that would prevent the door from opening more than 90 degrees.
To sum it up, it will eventually work very well, but unless you have the perfect cabinet (identical to that in the photo), you would have to improvise to get it working with your cabinet.
