Two features of this unique cast 2-light wall sconce have somewhat unexpected origins. The addition of decorative chain has a precedent in the great sanctuary lamps and hanging lanterns designed by the Moors while they occupied southern Spain. The glass urn forms is frequently identified with the shape of an amphora or an ancient beaker with a pointed bottom. The glass itself is attempting to reproduce the appearance of ancient glass which has weathered or has been buried for centuries - now translucent, mottled, and aesthetically beautiful in its own right.
Comes in a Bronze Patina finish with hand painted White Scavo glass.
