I know that it is faux alabaster but I asked how much it weighed and was told it was 11 lbs. It was not anywhere
close to that-maybe 2.5 lbs. I have camera lenses that weigh more it seems. But it looks great and actually was probably easier to hang without so much weight. It does not look cheap but I think it a little over priced.
And here is the main rub-it takes only 2-- 40 watt torpedo bulbs-like what goes in a chandelier- so does
not give much light. We put it in a bathroom and it is a little dark but I was told that there are kryptonite bulbs that can be bought for about $10 a piece that would bring more light. The design is very pretty and it is unique so I like it very much. I just didn't want one more kind of metal competing in the bathroom between the chrome shower doors, the chrome faucets and the gold framed mirror. And this does the trick very nicely.
The delivery was held up 2 weeks.
