I've never purchased wall sconces before. My thought was to either have them used with regular white bulbs or perhaps yellow bulbs so that they could look more like flames coming out. I called customer service hoping they would be open top for easy access to changing bulbs, they didn't know, they called the manufacturer, and they said they were closed. I ordered them anyway. When I received them they were open top which I was happy about. They've been professionally mounted on either side of a 63" flat screen TV and look wonderful, like an upscale movie theatre. I have a dimmer on the switch and they go from barely lit to bright. I haven't tried the yellow bulbs yet but I'm sure they'll look great also. Another thought, the metal feels like really good quality and I'm pleased.

This sconce looks very rich and gives off great ambient light.
