Extreme Lawn Ornaments

<a href="http://www.atgstores.com/garden-decor_968.html?linkloc=topnav" target="_blank">Lawn ornaments</a> are a fun way to say something personal to your community and the world about who you are, and choosing what you want to say is part of the weird, wacky magic. Sometimes lawn décor is a matter of regional taste. It’s not uncommon in the Midwest to still see landscapes dotted with <a href="http://www.atgstores.com/gazing-balls_925.html?linkLoc=topnav" target="_blank">gazing balls</a>. With origins in England’s Victorian period, these glass-blown orbs were once used by the house staff to keep an eye on unruly garden party attendees: [caption id="attachment_9242" align="aligncenter" width="180"]<a href="http://www.atgstores.com/gazing-balls/uma-enterprises-63293-metal-owl-gazing-ball-garden-decor_g1218043.html?isku=8977498&amp;linkloc=cataLogProductItemsImage" rel="attachment wp-att-9242" target="_blank"><img class=" wp-image-9242 " title="gazingball" src="http://ourblog.atgstores.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/gazingball-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="180" height="180" /></a> "I'm watching you, watch me ... watch them."[/caption] Also common in this area and parts farther south as one passes through the Blue Ridge Mountains of Appalachia are lifelike deer statues. Sometimes they’re grazing; sometimes they’re looking alertly to the tree line. Sometimes they’re posing like celebrities with antlers: [caption id="attachment_9244" align="aligncenter" width="180"]<a href="http://www.atgstores.com/garden-statues/design-toscano-db201938-grand-scale-black-forest-garden-deer-sculpture_g1295420.html?isku=9550439&amp;linkloc=cataLogProductItemsImage" rel="attachment wp-att-9244" target="_blank"><img class=" wp-image-9244 " title="Extreme Lawn Ornaments" src="http://ourblog.atgstores.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Extreme-Lawn-Ornaments-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="180" height="180" /></a> "I can totally see you in that orange vest."[/caption] Travel south and the beautiful <a href="http://www.atgstores.com/outdoor-fountains_2696.html?linkLoc=topnav" target="_blank">fountains</a> that adorn the yards of antebellum homes give way to a growing number of … plastic pink flamingoes. Originally designed in 1957 by Don Featherstone, these birds are the gold standard of lawn kitsch, although they sometimes have a habit of disappearing, often due to other, hungrier lawn ornaments: [caption id="attachment_9245" align="aligncenter" width="180"]<a href="http://www.atgstores.com/garden-statues/design-toscano-db383090-snapping-swamp-gator-statue_g990778.html?isku=7650918&amp;linkloc=cataLogProductItemsImage" rel="attachment wp-att-9245" target="_blank"><img class=" wp-image-9245 " title="alligator" src="http://ourblog.atgstores.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/alligator-300x300.jpg" alt="Alligator Sculpture " width="180" height="180" /></a> Like this guy.[/caption] Not to be outdone, the <a href="http://www.atgstores.com/gnomes-garden-statues_970.html?&amp;option0=optionA=183263|11403~Valu" target="_blank">garden gnome</a> has grown very popular among lawn décor enthusiasts, but it’s probably not because of their surly attitudes. Some gnomes are very nice, of course, but others are just downright rude: [caption id="attachment_9246" align="aligncenter" width="180"]<a href="http://www.atgstores.com/garden-statues/design-toscano-qm22997-moonie-bare-buttocks-garden-gnome-statue_g1371622.html?isku=9768897&amp;linkloc=cataLogProductItemsImage" rel="attachment wp-att-9246" target="_blank"><img class=" wp-image-9246 " title="gardengnome" src="http://ourblog.atgstores.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/gardengnome-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="180" height="180" /></a> He's actually giving you the bird.[/caption] Every once in a while, though, people just go completely off the reservation. Gnomes, flamingoes and imitation wildlife just don’t quite capture crazy the way, say, something like this does: [caption id="attachment_9247" align="aligncenter" width="300"]<a href="http://www.atgstores.com/garden-statues/design-toscano-ng32092-hobgoblin-of-harwich-manor-sculpture_g1295951.html?isku=9550961&amp;linkloc=cataLogProductItemsImage" rel="attachment wp-att-9247" target="_blank"><img class="size-medium wp-image-9247 " title="hobgoblins" src="http://ourblog.atgstores.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/hobgoblins-300x300.jpg" alt="Garden Trolls" width="300" height="300" /></a> "We're everywhere, man. Everywhere."[/caption] Happy Friday from <a href="http://www.atgstores.com/" target="_blank">ATGStores.com</a>, and remember that it’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission when it comes to HOA regulations.
