Happy 2013 College Football Season!
Well, here we are again: College football is back and it’s time for another great season of tailgating, grilling and chilling with fans and friends. Chances are you’ve already made your pick for who will make it to the Championship, but is this the year your team will dominate?
Considering last year’s matchup between Alabama’s Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers – the first time in the 14-year history of the BCS to see two teams from the same conference clash pads – it’s fair to say that anything can happen.
And, just in case anyone has forgotten, the Tide rolled over the Tigers so hard you could hear them yowl from Baton Rouge to the bayou and beyond. Time for revenge? We’ll see. Many pundits put Alabama at the top of the heap again in the SEC West, so the Tigers will have their work cut for them – again.
Making predictions in each conference would be fun and probably start a lot of really great fights, but since there’s only so much room to ramble let’s stick to the Big Ten, the Big 12 and the SEC.
Well, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a sports critic who isn’t betting on Ohio State. You might find a few talking smack about them, but they’ll still be betting on them. The big contenders? You’ll likely disagree, but Michigan and Nebraska’s Cornhuskers may give ‘em a run for the money as the Buckeyes gear up to make up for 2012’s lost postseason opportunity.

This conference is a mess (sorry, Longhorns). It used to be that you could rely on Texas to take its challengers out for a beating behind the cattle barn, but with a few lucky breaks in 2013 it may be OSU’s Cowboys that ride off into the sunset. It should be a close battle between these two teams despite Kansas State and the Sooner’s rousing conference performances last year, but Oklahoma is looking tougher than saddle leather.
Favorite: Oklahoma State Cowboys
Last year’s national showdown was dominated by this conference, but can they do it again? If they do, there’s a good chance the Crimson Tide will roll to the top once again. Georgia and the Bulldogs will be fighting to represent in the East, but a wave of momentum may carry Alabama all the way back into Bowl contention.
