How to Use Decorative Fencing for Landscaping

Spring has sprung and as your landscape starts to flourish you may want to consider decorative fencing as a creative way to contain nature’s version of the Green Monster. Of course, decorative fencing is not really about containment. That purpose is better served with actual fencing. Decorative fencing – or garden fencing – is more about livening up your landscape by adding depth, contour and style … and maybe keeping the neighbor’s dog out of your pansy patch. Some ideas for where you can use decorative fencing: 1. Trees Many people like to add some flair to their yards by mulching around tree trunks and then adding a low fence border between the mulch and the yard. It’s an easy way to spruce up your edging while keeping mulch contained. 2. Pathways / Driveways Marking pathway and/or driveway borders with decorative fencing (along with lighting, for safety at nighttime) is also a popular landscaping trick. It’s also a good way to curb the temptation to mow over a pathway, which can damage the paving and the lawnmower. 3. Garden / Flower Beds You might have to pick a style with closely spaced posts, but the right fence really can discourage animals from meddling in your magnolias. They also add a little charm and sophistication to the natural beauty of your landscaping design. 4. Property Borders There’s nothing more American than a little “unintentional” encroachment and a nice strip of fencing is an excellent way to adjust boundary lines! Just kidding – always consult your plat lines before adding lovely fencing along property borders. ATGStores.com wishes you luck in your creative landscaping pursuits.
