Unique Furniture Style: Quick & Easy DIY Upgrades

Everyone knows the power of a throw pillow or blanket when pondering a new furniture look, but there are plenty of other things you can try to spruce up that old spring-bag you once called a sofa.

There are several factors to consider like your budget, the state of your furniture and your willingness to experiment with powers that may not be fully under your control (hello, magnetic upholstery hammer), but sometimes a masterpiece emerges when you color outside the lines.

Well, maybe not a masterpiece, but at least it’s fun to try.

1. Just make sure you have proper ventilation.

4. Dye a doily.

A furniture doily may be as far away from sexy as you can get, but what happens if you tie-dye it? Well, maybe that’s a bit over the top, but there are hundreds of different dye colors and “accent linens” are as close to a dime a dozen as you’re going to get when it comes to décor.

Try these different tips to take your throw pillows and blankets to the next level, and see how creative you can get with your personal DIY furniture style.
