‘What Should I (Not) Hang Over My Bed?’
For whatever reason, a lot of people seem to have trouble finding the perfect piece of décor to put in that spot on the wall over the headboard, perhaps because somewhere deep inside they know it may be the last thing they ever see …
It’s probably because this is a very delicate piece of real estate in the bedroom, and the room itself is arguably the most sensitive in the house. It’s a nerve center; a private place where we lower our defenses. So, right off the bat we can probably scratch things like this off the list:

It’s a place where we want to feel calm and at peace, and the décor will help set the mood before we fall asleep, but we don’t want the room turning into the lobby of a mental health clinic or hokey wellness retreat:

There has to be balance without losing that personal touch. After all, it’s a very intimate area that should hold some meaningfulness to it. A bedroom isn’t just a place to sleep. Many life-changing decisions and moments of reflection are shared in these spaces, but we don't necessarily need constant reminders:

But, serenity often comes at the expense of memory and it’s okay to want the kind of décor that will allow you to clear your mind and forget all of the little things that cause worry throughout the day, at least for a little while. After giving it some thought, the irony may be that the best décor is none at all.
